All Around the Blakemore House...

All around the Blakemore House,
The Jesse Boy chases Barry.
And doorstops,
And Barry's toys,
And his ball,
And Barry's dog dish,
And the fireplace...

Jesse is out and about. He had his own little army crawl. He pulls with his right arm and pushes with his left leg. He has discovered doorstops. I knew that some kids like doorstops. I now feel that MOST kids like doorstops. He's learned how to take off the little knobby things from the end of them, and they make the best boingy sound when you swat at them.

Ope! Mom caught me under the stroller. I found another doorstop, Mom!!
These things are the best!

I got that white thing off!

Mom says this ball is Yucky for me to put in my mouth, but I don't mind.

This jumperoo is fun from the bottom too.

Let's see...how does this thing work?

One won't work...not two...three is JUST right!

Jesse's a little bit of a monkey in the way he uses his feet

Going for the green ball

Now for the blue one

On my 9 month birthday, my mom got out a pan and a wooden spoon
for me to make some fun noise

I can chew on this spoon too!

Whoo, whoo! This if fun! :)

To The Beach

Scott, Jesse, and I went with our Youth Group on a weekend retreat to a beach house on Galveston. It was Jesse's first time to go to the ocean. Jesse has taken a bit of a sober attitude about water. He's not too excited. He's not too upset. He's just figuring it out.

' Who's reading this to me?!' Rich did a great job reading to Jesse and playing with him, too.

Henry wants to come check out all the fun of 'Pajama Time'!

Daddy and Baby headed to the beach!

Stop and take a pic for Mama.

I feel safe up here. This is my favorite way to ride.

I think I can, I think I can. Jesse likes being on his Daddy's shoulders, but when Scott took him down and held him against his chest...Jesse fell asleep. Right out there in the ocean. :)

Oh Daddy! Don't let that water keep comin' up and get me!

Oops! I accidently smiled and let them know I was having a great time. :) What a cute boy!

Kevin takes a shot at reading 'Pajama Time!' He's puttin' both boys to sleep...well, his reading plus a day at the beach. These boys are wiped out!

Day 2 at the beach for Jesse.

Takin pics of the cute boy.

I think I'm ok with this. I'm brave, Mama!

My friend Henry enjoys the beach and sand. He even eats the sand!

You sure this is safe, Henry?

My silly Mama was excited to write my name in the sand for the first time. She's crazy about me.

Mobile Mischief

Jesse is such a little boy. He's finding mischief to get into, and he's making tougher and tougher on his Mama to watch out for him. I guess God makes it that way - so Mamas can slowly acclimate to the dangers of having a boy.

Some interesting things I've learned:

People say, 'don't let kids play with plastic bags' because kids like plastic bags! Jesse has a knack for finding and grabbing plastic bags if they're anywhere close.

People say, 'don't let kids play with electrical cords', because kids like to play with electrical cords! Jesse will find any hidden cord in a room. This will be very touch to kid-proof. I wish he could just play with them. It'd be a lot easier. He finds them behind the tv, under the couch...anywhere.

MISCHIEF

Mama uses this to get boogies out of my nose. I used to HATE it. Now I think it's funny, AND I LOVE chewing on it....just like Barry. He's chewed up a couple of these already.

Mmmm, mmmm, mmmm! Yummy!

MOBILITY

Mama sits me down in the living room to play for a bit while she works in the kitchen. That used to be No Problem.

See how cute I am? What trouble can I get into? She's right there.

Here's one thing I can do.

I have a combination scoot/roll plan of attack.

When I get out onto the tile, I make a little yell to celebrate a successful effort, yell at Mom to watch for me, and warn Barry that I'm on my way.

Do I get the green ball or Barry?

I'm gonna get Barry!

Getting into good position...

Jesse rolls on his back to be in a great cuddle position with Barry, and Barry gets up. He's outta there.

That's ok. Who needs Barry? I found a trash can and a big plastic bag!!

I got all the way over here - that darn ball rolls when I go after it.

Mom confined me to the jumperoo so she can work on dinner. Barry's thankful.
CONCLUSION
Mom's gonna have to keep the floor clean if I'm gonna be movin' all over it, and I'm alreay getting banged up. I had rubbed spots on my elbows and knees tonight after all of my moving around. I also had what looked like a little rug burn on my wrist. Mom's gonna want to put me in knee pads.

Game Day in Stillwater

This past weekend we went to Stillwater for the first football game of the season. Jesse's bag was packed with lots of orange and OSU gear. He has plenty! :)

Our friend Todd rode up with us. I was nervous he'd get out at the first stop - riding with an 8 month old, two parents, and a dog. But Todd stuck it out. He may never ride with us again. :) Jesse did great driving up on a Friday and back on a Sunday. That's a rough drive for the adults in the car - it had to feel like a lifetime for Jesse.

The trip was worth the effort. We got to see lots of great friends and family, got to eat some Stillwater favorites, and witness a great victory by the cowboys. Go Pokes!

Jesse had so much fun the afternoon before the game that he fell asleep about an hour before his normal bedtime and before the game even started. Jesse. You're gonna have to learn to love OSU football at some point. Maybe it'll be easier for him to love an afternoon game. :)

Here are some pics of Jesse playing with his friends and family:

Grandpa! I LOVE this book! It has soft things for me to touch - I'm SO good at that!! :)

Let's hang out Grandma, cause I'm gonna crash early tonight.

A Family Pic in our OSU Gear. Dad says my hair looks like Dana Holgorsen. Mom says I look MUCH better than that raggedy guy.

LL Cool J = Ladies Love Cool Jesse

I love my Auntie L. She's funny!

My Grandma had this really pretty necklace on - I tried eating it. Are you surprised?

My Papa brought me a really cool OSU windsuit. I'll look like one of the football players in it.

My Cousin Ella is lots of fun. She takes good care of me. She's fast to get my pacifier and water to me.

Krissa came to visit me and my mom. She felt badly about not wearing orange. We forgave her.
